How Women In Cinema Collective (WCC) Is Formed.

The WCC was created in 2017, on November 2017 it was formed as a society.

It was formed after an actress working in the Malayalam film industry was waylaid and harassed by a famous Malayalam actor Mr.Dileep.

She was bravely fighting for justice but she does not get support from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) as per her expectations.

At the same time, 18 women from the Malayalam film industry stand with her to get justice.

The collective of 18 women’s met up with the Chief Minister of Kerala.

And inform the gender-discriminatory values and unsafe practices faced by women in the film industry.

After that meeting up they got permission for the creation of the Women In Cinema Collective (WCC).

Women In Cinema Collective (WCC) ensures the safety of women working in the film industry.

The goal of WCC is to create equal spaces and equal opportunities for women in the film industry.

WCC works towards building a safe and secure environment for women in films.

Currently, the members of WCC are from the Malayalam film industry but in near future, we can see it will expand all over the Indian film industry.
